The Signs Are All Around Us

This time of the year everyone is looking for the first signs of spring. But while they listen for the sounds of baby birds in the trees or to sneak a peek at the first blades of grass, we look to the world's fashion capital and Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.

As we create our personal fashion story boards and curate mini spring and summer fashion stories, remember to take a cue from your own closet, and the beauty that surrounds you to make fashion moments that are uniquely you.

Fashion's Night Out Re-Cap

As promised, Pretty Coveted is giving you an all-access pass to sights seen at Fashion's Night Out - Miami Style! The world-famous Bal Harbour Shops was busting at the seams with designer goods, champagne bars and gorgeous people. There was soooo much fabulousness going on, but here's a re-cap of things we loved about the night:

*SHOE SHOPPING*
{...Checking out Miu Miu at Saks...}

{...Louboutin browsing in Fendi...}

*STYLISH CHATTER*

{...Watching the impromptu runway at Neiman's...}

{...Waiting in line at the Chanel Nail Bar...}

{...Needs no formal introduction, of course...}

*DRESSING ROOM FITTINGS*
{...Scouring racks at DVF...}

{Tonya & Carla}

There was so much more food, fun and fashion to be had, but for the sake of time (and space), we'll stop there. We hope you'll visit our gorgeous town soon. After all, who doesn't love blue skies, warm breezes and the world's best fashion!! Hit us up if you do.
Happy Weekend!

XO,
Pretty Coveted

Hooray!...It's Friday!...

Because I started the week off in a somewhat 'gloomy' fashion and I'm now back to my usual upbeat self, I thought I'd end the week on a higher note.
(BTW: Thanks Lovelies, for all of the suggestions & encouragement.)
Besides, it's Friday!!:-)
The weather in SFLA (while hot) is sheer perfection and I've been thinking of one of my favorite pastimes - reading.
This gorgeous photo comes from Dress Design Decor. It makes me want to book browse in a dress just like that. How lovely! While I love my glossies, there's nothing like a beautifully bound hardcover on art, fashion or photography.
What a beautiful cover!
Nina's books are must-haves for any fashion-phile.
The ultimate must-have, the story of Yves Saint Laurent (along with Lagerfeld).
Indeed, a visit to Miami Beach's Books & Books is on this weekend's agenda.
Happy Weekend!:-)

L.P.S.,
Carla

Miami Fashion Week celebrates it's 12th year

While NYFW is a who's who of the world's most well-known fashion houses, Miami Fashion Week's runways were filled with emerging talent and some of Latin America's most celebrated designers. This year's event took place in Midtown Miami in the trend Wyndwood Art District.

World-renowned designers, entertainers, fashionistas and a throng of media attended three days of non-stop parties and events. More than 60 international designers revealed their latest collections in women's evening wear, prĂȘt-a-porter, swimwear, men's wear, jewelry and accessories.

Here are some of event's show stoppers. Look out for these designers to become household names.

Baby It's Cold Outside

While most of the country braces for a snow storm, South Florida's fashion obsessed secretly celebrate. Miami might be known for it's hot nights and evening wear that is sometimes barely there, but as fall sets in we wait anxiously for a brief visit from old man winter - when tempatures dip just enough to wear the season's hottest boots, chic leather bombers and textured tights.

I spotted these fashionista's strolling on South Beach. They were the absolutely best in show.

Sarah looked smashing in her ruffled shooties and textured tights.

We spotted Pam in boutique hot spot Dash. Her mixture of leather and suede paired with a simple tank was the perfect fashion cocktail.
